Fallacy of Shanaishchari Amavasya
Shanaishchari Amavasyas have always been considered very auspicious for appeasing Lord Saturn, due to excellent combination of Saturday and Amavasya. Our Panchangas have informed us that Shanaishchari Amavasya is going to fall on Sixth November this year. All the so called Shani dhams have started to organize and publicize Special Shani Poojas on this occasion. There is great rush, due to fear psychosis created by some of our brethren, about the great Lord Saturn. Now what happens? To control the crowd, Pooja is started from the last night, which is effectively Friday astrologically (Day Lord Venus) till Sunrise. Hence, no benefit of Pooja of Lord Saturn till Sunrise of Saturday.Again, this special Pooja of Shanaishchari Amavasya is going to continue whole day and night of Saturday by these Shani Dhams. But Shanaishchari Amavasya is only till Amavasya lasts. On Sixth November, Amavasya is upto 10:21 AM. Hence, Shanaishchari Amavasya is only upto 10:21 AM. But you are not supposed to worship Lord Saturn in Day time, which is being ruled by Lord Sun, not at very cordial relations with him. So crux of my observation is that no auspicious Pooja of Shanaishchari Amavasya can be performed on Sixth November. So please just enlighten the persons who are going to waste their hard earned money to these so called Shani Dhams.

Krishna Janmashtami this year- The tithi Ashtami is from 10:50 on First September to 10:42 on Second September. Again Nakshatra Rohini is from 13:18 on First September to 13:46 on Second September. As per Shastras, ideally Janmashtami is celebrated on the midnight, when Ashtami Tithi coincides with Rohini Nakshatra. Hence, Festival Janmashtami is to be celebrated on the intervening night of First Sept. and Second Sept.
