There are diverse views about choosing proper time for  Diwali/ Dipawali Pooja. The most popular is to perform this auspicious act in the Sthir Lagnas (Fixed Ascendants). The reason for choosing Sthir Lagna (Fixed Ascendant), as explained in my earlier blog, is the belief  that Pooja done in Sthir Lagna will stabilize Maa Laxmi (Deity of wealth and other monetary resources), who is considered very prone to movement.

This year Diwali/ Dipawali is being celebrated on October 26, 2011 and timings for Sthir Lagna on this date, after sunrise, are:

Vrishchik (Scorpio) 8:14 AM to 10:32 AM

Kumbh (Aquarius) 02:19 PM to 03:46 PM

Vrish (Taurus) 06:46 PM to 08:42 PM

Simha (Leo) 1:16 AM to 3:34 AM in the intervening night of October 26, 2011 and October 27, 2011

However, astrological puritans do not opt this general route. At first they try Lagna Shuddhi (Ascendant Purification) as per principles given in the classics; secondly, they try to go at the level of Navamsa (Ninth part of Ascendant) and try to configure fixed Navamsa.

Sometime, my experiments go to another level. Taking clue from the dicta given in the Classics, I also use first fifteen degrees of Dwiswabhavi Lagnas (Duel Ascendants) with impressive success for all the works prescribed to be done in Sthir Lagna (Fixed Ascendant).

 Another innovation from my side. I use Chalit Kundli for Lagna Shuddhi (Ascendant Purification).

I have tried my hand and found following time slots to be more appropriate for Diwali/ Dipawali Pooja this year:

A. 09:16 AM to 09:31 AM

B. 10:02 AM to 10:15 AM

C. 10:47 AM to 11:01 AM

D. 12:11 PM to 12:23 PM

E. 02:29 PM to 02:38 PM

F. 07:00 PM to 07:15 PM

G. 08:56 PM to 21:09 PM

Option ‘D’, although very near to Abhijit Muhurtha, may not suit to many as it is falling in Rahu Kalam.

For the followers of Chaughadia system of Muhurtha (Electional System of Astrology), auspicious times are as under:

06:32 AM to 09:18 AM

10:41 AM to 12:04 PM

04:06 PM to 05:29 PM

07:15 PM to 10:29 PM

I am not going into controversy, whether Chaughadia system is applicable or not while choosing time for a particular Pooja.

Again I also solicit the views of esteemed readers, whether Rahu Kalam is applicable on Diwali/ Dipawali Pooja, a yearly affair or not.

Choice is yours, whatever time you choose for worshiping Goddess Laxmi (Dhan/ wealth), do not forget that Lord Ganesh (Buddhi/ intellect) is always in her side. My best wishes for the Happy and prosperous Deepawali.

The thumb rule for Diwali/ Dipawali Pooja is ideally it should be done in Sthir Lagna (Fixed Ascendant), provided it is in ‘Amavasya’ Tithi. It is thought that Pooja done in Sthir Lagna will stabilize Maa Laxmi (Deity of wealth and other monetary resources), who is considered very prone to movement.

Traditionally, Diwali/ Dipawali being festival of lights, being celebrated in night, it is normally advised that best time for the same is Simha Lagna (Leo Ascendant),Which falls around Midnight. Even Mahanisheeth Pooja, very popular in Bengali community as well as in Agam (also called Tantra) traditions, is always performed in Simha Lagna.

This Year Diwali/ Dipawali is being celebrated on October 26, 2011 and Simha Lagna (Leo Ascendant) is from 1:16 AM to 3:34 AM in the intervening night of October 26, 2011 and October 27, 2011 (Reference Place-Delhi). What is more important here is that ‘Amavasya’ Tithi, which is a must for Diwali/ Dipawali is only up to 1:25 AM in the intervening night of October 26, 2011 and October 27, 2011.

Hence, if you want to do Diwali/ Dipawali Pooja in Simha Lagna (Leo Ascendant) this year, you will only get initial 09 Minutes for the same and that also in Pap Kartari by Mars as well as Saturn. Followers of Chughadia system of Murtha will also prefer to avoid Simha Lagna (Leo Ascendant) this year, as whole Simha Lagna (Leo Ascendant) is falling in ‘Rog’ (Disease) and Udweg (Anxiety) Chaughadia this year.

In view of the same, my clear advice to all and sundry: Desist from Diwali/ Dipawali Pooja in Simha Lagna this year.

Currently he is running best period of his life. Mahadasa- Saturn, Yogakaraka, Lord of Ninth (Bhagya Sthana) House & Tenth (Bhava of Karma, Pratishtha i.e. prestige) House; Antardasa-Venus, Lord of Lagna i.e. natural yogakaraka as well as Vipareet rajayoga karaka; Pratyantar Lord-Moon, Lord of Third House (Parakrama i.e. Valour Bhava) favorably placed in Kendra i.e.  Fourth House, Second from its sign. I would remind my friends that the Dasa of Vipareet Rajayoga karaka was instrumental in making I.K. Gujaral, P.M. of India from nowhere.

Current Pratyantara, which is conducive to the movement he has undertaken, will last upto 21.10.2011, if Chitra Paksha ayanamsa is taken. However, Mars Pratyantara, which will start there after is not a fair period for him, the mars being Strong Maraka, being Lord of Seventh and Twelfth placed adversaly. The position of Mars is also not favorable in Dasamamsa. In view of this, I will reiterate my suggestion that he should culminate his movement to a logical conclusion by that period.

We don’t know what transpired between Government and Baba Ramdeo and what compelled Government to take such a harsh and brutal action; but we know that out of crowd of 70,000 to 100000 persons hounded from the venue of Baba Ramdeo’s movement, approx. 50000 persons were from out of Delhi, mainly remote places of India. Having lost their belongings and nowhere to go, they are helpless and wandering on the streets of India, simply wanting to go their hometowns. Majority of them are aged and a few have been injured in the lathi (baton) charge. Today is Sunday, an off day for majority of us. I appeal to all the residents of Delhi and surrounding places to do whatever they can do for these Citizens of our country, who had gathered in their Capital City to participate in a peaceful movement for a rightful cause.

I have already visited R. M. L.  Hospital and my assessment is that these persons only require proper guidance to board a train to their home town and in some rare cases, money for buying the train ticket. I again request to do whatever you can for these persons. If someone insists for continuing in Delhi for the sake of movement, you may simply ask if they require any meals, which is not going to cost you a bomb. ( In Delhi, it simply costs Rs. 20/- to 30/- for a reasonable one time meal)

Sathya Sai Baba or Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi passed away on 24 April at 7:40 IST, after nearly a month of hospitalization.

Who he was?

Sathya Sai Baba born as Sathyanarayana Raju was an Indian guru, spiritual figure and educator. In 2011, he was listed by the Watkins Review as one of the 100 most spiritually influential people in the world. He was described by his devotees as an avatar, God Sai Baba, spiritual teacher and miracle worker. The apparent materialising of vibhuti (holy ash) and other small objects such as rings, necklaces and watches by Baba has been a source of both fame and controversy – skeptics consider these simple conjuring tricks while devotees consider them as signs of divinity.

Sathya Sai Baba claimed to be the reincarnation of the spiritual guru, Sai Baba of Shirdi/ Shirdi Sai Baba/ Sai shirdi Baba, whose teachings were an eclectic blend of Hindu and Muslim beliefs.

Purpose of this article

This article is being written to elaborate, how we had predicted the death of Sai Baba of Puttaparthi, with 100% accuracy, even without consulting his Horoscope or his birth details, only through the Horoscope of coming year, in the light of principles of Mundane astrology. It is our great belief that one may be his follower or Critic, but he cannot deny that he affected the lives of millions; and his death is of such a magnitude that it should be reflected in the Yearly Horoscope prepared for Mundane Horoscope.

The tradition

It is great Vedic tradition to discuss the coming year; in the term of happenings, mishappenings, events; on the basis of  starting moment of coming year, in the light of great tenets of Vedic Astrology. From time immemorial, householders in India used to visit their family Astrologer, with offering in their hands, for knowing the implications of coming year on their life. In the same way, heads of State used to discuss coming year and its implications to their States, so that they could formulate their policies, make yearly plans etc.

How we follow

In the same tradition, we organize Workshops at Noida, India, much before the start of New Year, to know the events, which are going to take place in the coming year. We want to stress here that we use only the Year,  which starts from the moment of conjunction of Sun and Moon in Pieces or New Moon in Pieces, popularly called Vikrami Year, Hindu Year or sometime mistakenly called Vedic Year. We have, invariably found that results arrived out of  analysis of planetary positions for this moment are hundred percent accurate for the whole coming year, for the particular place, of which Longitudes and Latitudes have been taken.

Current Year

The planetary position at this position calculated as per Vedic principles and after taking Longitudes and Latitudes of New Delhi, Capital of India, were as follows:

 

The findings in the Chart

After going through the above planetary position, we were startled to find that:

1. Ninth house, indicating religious and spiritual orders, sects is highly afflicted by the combine effect of Saturn, Mars, Rahu and Ketu,

2. Lord of Ninth House, indicating Religious leaders, in this case Mercury, is combust as well as retrograde; and again afflicted by Saturn and Mars,

3. The Jupiter, the significator for religious and spiritual matters and leaders, is again combust and afflicted by Saturn and Mars,

4. In the Divisional Chart, Navamsa or D-9, Ninth house, Leo as well as Gemini, Sign of Ninth House of Main Chart is afflicted by Saturn,

5. Again, in the Navamsa or D-9 Chart, Ninth Lord of this Chart i.e. Sun as well as  Ninth Lord of main Chart i.e. Mercury, both are afflicted with Mars and Saturn,

6. Additionally, Ninth House of this Chart i.e.  Navamsa or D-9 is afflicted by Rahu,

7. In the Divisional Chart, Dasamamsa or D-10, Ninth house is highly afflicted by Saturn and Mars,

8. Again, in the Dasamamsa or D-10 Chart, Ninth Lord of this Chart i.e. Sun is afflicted with Saturn,

9. On the other hand, Ninth Lord of main Chart i.e. Mercury, is afflicted with Mars and Saturn both.

The Prediction we made

We did not need more signals and a specific prediction was made that ‘either a religious crisis of great magnitude will happen or some great religious leader may pass away’.

Timing of event

Then, the question arose about the timing of this event. We worked out that since, common affliction of Ninth house with Mars and Saturn is necessary for an event of such a great magnitude, the said event may happen either from the start of New Year i.e. April 3, 2011 to May 3, 2011, or from July 25, 2011 to September 09, 2011, when the ninth House of new Year horoscope will get common aspect of Mars as well as Saturn.

Actual Event

We know that Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi, passed away on the morning of April 24, 2011at 07:40 AM (IST). This event put up the stamp of approval on the scientific validity of Astrology, the Super Science.

Where was the laxity

However, when I was doing postmortem of this prediction with our students of Research classes on the same day i.e. April 24, 2011, suddenly a fact came out in my mind that had we delved deep into the matter, we could have predicted the exact time and date of this unfortunate event. How? Let us see-

A.   We have mentioned two probable periods in the above paragraphs, One, from April 3, 2011 to May 3, 2011, and Second, from July 25, 2011 to September 09, 2011,

B.    Out of the above two periods, first period is more sensitive; as in this period, along with Ninth House, Ninth Lord is also afflicted by Saturn and Mars, while this is not the condition in case of Second period,

C.   Out of the period April 3, 2011 to May 3, 2011, this event could not happen before 15:35 hours (IST) of April 23, 2011, as till this time Ninth Lord of New Year horoscope was retrograde; and it became direct only at this very moment,

D.   Now, we have narrowed down our probable period to, from 15:35 hours (IST) of April 23, 2011 to 14:48 Hours (IST) of May 3, 2011,

E.    Now, to further narrow down above time period, we make take help of Moon, fastest moving Graha. For Ninth House Moon is Marakesh (Lord of death) in the main Chart as well as Twelfth Lord (Lord of losses) in the Divisional Charts, D-9 & D-10.

F.    Out of the whole period mentioned in ‘D’, Moon’s  position or aspect on Ninth House i.e. zodiac sign Gemini was only for the period from 15:35 hours (IST) of April 23, 2011 to 12:05 Hours (IST) of April 24, 2011,

G.   Lo and behold, we got the time frame of less than twenty four hours, in which this unfortunate event could happen, and not only us but the whole world knows that the event occurred only in this period.

H.   At the time of this unfortunate event i.e. 07:40 AM (IST) of April 24, 2011, at the place of this event i.e. Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, India (14°9.91′N 77°48.70′E), Taurus Ascendant, Sign of Eighth House in the main New year chart as well as Sign of Twelfth house from the Ninth House, the house subject of our study was rising.

I.       At the time of this event, Mercury, Ninth Lord in the main New year chart, was posited  in Pieces(18 Degrees 53 minutes) and, was in clear opposition to the Saturn, highly malefic being eighth Lord from Ninth house in the main New year chart, posited in Virgo(18 Degrees 21 Minutes).

J.      Again at the moment of the event,  Moon, Marakesh for the Ninth house in the main New year chart, posited in Sagittarius (27 Degrees 39 minutes)  was in clear Square to the Jupiter, the significator for religious leaders, which was posited in Pieces (26 Degrees 39 minutes).

Lessons For us

Yes, Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi passed away on 24 April, but this event has given some lessons to followers of Astrology like us-

Firstly, the stars never show any laxity in their duty to hint about any event and guide us to reach at exact nature and timing of any event;

Secondly,  If we smell about anything while delineating any Horoscope, we should always go deeper and deeper and finish our analysis to the natural corollary, or ultimate conclusion.
